Kate is Chief Executive Officer of Queensland Writers Centre. She has previously worked as a small business consultant focusing on micro enterprises, non-profits and individual artists in the creative sectors.  As a consultant for Creative Economy, she worked with indigenous creative businesses to develop sustainable enterprise and participated in the development of policy and industry strategy for creative industries in Australia.

Kate’s areas of professional interest include:

  • the future of publishing and industry trends
  • e-books, mobile content and digital publishing innovations
  • writing (both her own and general ideas to do with being an author in today’s industry)
  • Australian policy on arts and culture and creative economic development

Kate has been a regular contributor to ABC Radio and The Courier Mail and has published numerous short stories in anthologies and magazines. She appears regularly at writers festivals and presents seminars and workshops on writing and publishing industry topics. She is currently writing a zombie love story.
